Recent Work

I am currently working on a new exhibition for 2025, titled "To Look At The Sea, Is To Become What One Is". The title is taken from the two-volume anthology of the work of artist, writer and poet Etal Adnan. The exhibition explores my interst in the human condition and how we come to see ourselves. It will comprise assemblages made from wood and other objects retrieved from the sea, close to where I live, and seascapes both abstract and traditional.

Here I am just putting the finishing touches to this larger piece for the exhibtion. It is something constructed out of my mind from memories as a Loster Fisherman. I use reference photographs for the detail, but this is what I think of when I think of the sea. It can be lonely, threatening and dangerous but at the same time is awe inspiring and beautiful.
